dunnhumby performance tool confirms Element78 consultancy capabilities
Element 78 Solutions Ltd, developers of Carbon360 appraisal software, has confirmed its consultancy capabilities with its second bespoke solution for dunnhumby. Following global implementation of Carbon360, Element78 assisted development of an annual employee survey and has now successfully partnered dunnhumby in production of an on-line performance management tool.
Set to be adopted internationally across dunnhumby’s offices in Europe, America and Asia the new product, branded i2, will enable over 1,200 employees to record their annual objectives. Using the performance management solution, employees will maintain a continuous development record in a ‘blog’ style format. An annual review is built into the system to rate, record and report overall performance.
Commenting on Element78’s consultancy contribution to the development of i2, which will be used by all staff members including receptionists and the company’s CEO, Francesca Peters, Global HR Director for dunnhumby said:
“Element78 has a rare ability to understand the culture and needs of the organisation which means that bespoke product development is an organic process. The team has a real capability of comprehending specific requirements and has an open approach that ensures timely delivery of projects.
“Our needs were translated to produce an excellent product which will give employees continuous access to a solution that frees them from the constraints of a paper-based performance management system.”
An additional benefit of the new i2 on-line performance management tool reported is its ability to pre-set measures to provide consistency of reporting – this has facilitated the introduction of a number of standard objectives across a seven grade system adopted by dunnhumby.
360 solution gives appraisal ownership
Element 78 Solution Ltd’s automated 360 degree product introduced at Pearson Shared Services Ltd is giving ownership of the appraisal process to one of the company’s management teams.
As part of Pearson Plc, with international brands including The Financial Times and Penguin Books, Pearson Shared Services offers management and support services including IT systems to the group.
Commenting on the adoption of the Carbon360 product from Element78, Jackie Fraser-Smith, HR Director for Pearson Shared Services said:
“Our business analysis and project management teams work on a wide variety of IT solutions for a range of internal clients. Operating remotely from their line managers and working to project timelines, means that an appraisal tool which captures timely, first-hand feedback from various stakeholders is beneficial for both the people being reviewed and their line manager.
“With Element78’s 360 degree appraisal product, we have given the person being appraised ownership and control of the process: they define the relevant members of their working community to give feedback and record their own objectives. By using this system, the appraisal process is not constrained by paperwork or the traditional annual cycle – this offers a flexibility that ensures salient and timely detail is not overlooked and we capture a variety of view points.”
Pearson Shared Services’ move to adopt the Carbon360 product for 24 employees in its business analysis and project management division followed a pilot review implemented by seven reviewees, including appraisal interviews utilising the PDF output file from the automated solution.
